Wooden garages and timber garage buildings are versatile structures that enhance your living space while remaining separate from your home. They offer a cost-effective alternative to expensive extensions and can often be built without the need for planning permission. Ideal for classic cars and motorbikes, wooden garages maintain an ambient temperature and prevent condensation during winter. Although sturdier than garden sheds, they still fall under permitted development regulations.

1

Wall Construction

100mm x 40mm Scandinavian Redwood framing, planed to a standard size, with a triple outer skin or plywood, vapour barrier and tanalised cladding (shiplap or Feather Edge). Eaves heights vary depending on requirements, and ridge heights can be 2.5m for planning purposes or taller if required.

2

Roof

Traditionally based on a pitched roof, with 125mm x 40mm purlins that carry 12mm OSB3 boarding and underfelt before the final roof covering. Standard roof finish is Felt Tiles, but the roof can accept Onduline, Tapco slate or Cedar shingles. A tiled roof can be accommodated, however additional roof trusses will be required to take the increased weight.

3

Doors

Metal Up & Over or side hung barn doors provide security and stability, and are available in a wide choice of colours. Up & Over doors can be motorised if required and barn doors also have upgrading options available. Cart lodge openings are available if no doors are need, and there's also the option of fitting your own roller or sectional doors if needed.

4

Overhangs and Guttering

Overhangs add an attractive feature the the building, as well as additional protection - and these can be lined underneath if needed to really finish off the look of the new timber garage. Guttering is included with all buildings, along with downpipes.
